The less said about this match, the better, when it comes to Gamba. Manager Kenta Hasegawa had selected a three back system, with Jaesuk Oh and Fujiharu as wing backs, but they seemed to spend more time as defenders, allowing the away team plenty of possession high up the field. When Yasuhito Endo, of all people, headed into his own goal to open the scoring you just knew this was not going to go right for Gamba. It was 2-0 by half time, 3-0 soon after and the away team had added a fourth goal by the time Ademilson pulled a consolation goal back in the final minute of regulation time.
An impressive away win to begin the campaign has been nullified by a far-from-impressive home defeat. But four games to go, and the time to put things right.
