Gamba Osaka 3-0 Sagan Tosu

next
In a match that Gamba Osaka won with ease, it was a bonus to see the return of Hiroto Goya to the field, all be it for just a moment in additional time - after his long term injury absence. He came in to replace Shun Nagasawa, who had just put the game beyond any doubt with Gamba's third goal in the 93rd minute. Earlier goals from Nagasawa (again) and Shu Kurata had seen Gamba cruising through the match.

Nagasawa had already missed an easier headed chance in the 11th minute when he opened the scoring for the home team just past the half hour mark, after Kurata had nutmegged one defender, then strolled past two more before slipping the ball out to the right wing for - of all people - centre back Genta Miura to supply the cross for the pinpoint header.

Minutes later Oh Jaesuk's cross bounced once before it was met on the volley by Kurata to give his team a 2-0 half time lead, though Shuhei Akasaki really could have made it 3-0 before the break!

Yosuke Ideguchi had time to control, touch and place a shot inches around the post in the 71st minute as Gamba looked to add to their tally, but it was Nagasawa who added his second in additional time, heading home a right wing cross, as 'keeper Shuichi Gonda came out but got nowhere near the ball, the Gamba forward heading into an empty goal. 3-0. Three points.

Team - Higashiguchi, Oh, Miura, Fabio, Fujiharu, Ideguchi, Endo, Fujimoto (Izumisawa, 74), Kurata, Nagasawa (Goya, 90+3), Akasaki (Ademilson, 59)
