10 minutes later saw Kosuke Onose curl in a right foot shot that narrowly missed the 'keeper's right hand post as Gamba looked for that first goal but it was Oita Trinita who broke the deadlock. Against the run of play a move down the right wing saw the cross come in and Daiki Watari sent a bullet header past Masaaki Higashiguchi in the Gamba goal to give the away team a 1-0 lead.
The lead did not last long as Gamba attacked the Trinita goalmouth again and again and finally Kosuke Onose was brought down for an obvious penalty kick that Takashi Usami dispatched with aplomb. Half time, 1-1, and, just after the restart it was Usami again, this time turning provider as his superb slide out on the wing dispossessed a defender and the Gamba youth product took the ball forward a few yards before sliding in a pass for the waiting Ademilson to take, turn, slip aside a blast home to give the home side a well-deserved lead.
Less than 10 minutes later Ademilson almost had himself a second goal as a back-pass to the Trinita 'keeper got a little closer to the line than the custodian would have wanted and the plucky Brazilian slid in to try and make the contact that would have pushed the ball over the line, but the goalkeeper got in a desperate last ditch clearance.
Gamba continued to look for more goals while comfortably handling anything that came their way from Trinita's forwards and marched on to victory!
