Born February 7th, 1977, the 44-yearold Miyamoto had progressed all the way through the team, from his days as a very young player, to his managership, that commenced in July 2018. Previous to taking over as manager of the "top team" Miyamoto has been Junior Youth coach in 2015, Youth coach in 2016 and the Under-23 team manager in J3 in 2018 and 2018.
Miyamoto led the team to 2nd in J2 ,and the Emperor's Cup final last season, as well as qualifying for the 2021 Asian Champions league. he leaves behind a team that has been hampered my multiple injuries early season, not to mention an extended enforced break due to positive cases of the Corina virus in the squad.
Things can, and will get better for both Gamba Osaka and Tsuneyasu Miyamoto. Onward and upward!
