Shonan Bellmare 0-0 Gamba Osaka

next
A difficult away game at Shonan Bellmare saw Gamba Osaka frustrated in their bid to add another win to their improving season but another clean sheet - away from home - and a complete 2nd half played by Ryu Takao - was encouraging for the club as a whole as the improvement continues to gain momentum.
For this game the team lined up with three backs, and Kosuke Onose (right) and Dai Tsukamoto (left) as wing-backs, with Hiroki Fujiharu (and Yuya Fukuda) still out of action, so forward Tsukamoto was still being asked to do a job on the left.

Gamba's first good chance of the game came when a long feed from Masaaki Higashiguchi, was half-cleared, headed into the path of Patric. The big Brazilian slipped the ball aside with a single touch and Takashi Usami was in space, but he was forced wide and his shot did not quite hit the target.
Just before the half hour mark the home team had a chance that cannoned back off the post to the relief of the Gamba defence and the game went in to the break scoreless.
In a game that ended without a goal there were chances for both teams in the 2nd half, with Higashiguchi the busier goalkeeper, but equal to everything that was thrown at him and it was probably Gamba that were more relieved to take a point as the final whistle sounded as Wellington Silva's tame shot failed to test the goalkeeper.

Team - Higashiguchi, Sato, Miura, Suganuma, Onose, Tsukamoto (Takao, 46), Ideguchi, Yajima, Kurata (Okuno, 74), Usami (Ichimi, 74), Patric (Leandro Pereira, 60)
