Despite still missing multiple players to injury, it was an experienced team that took on Shimizu S-Pulse away from hone came home with a well-deserved win which almost began very well in the 7th minute, as Leandro Pereira headed against a post after a slick passing move had split the defence. S-Pulse then hit Masaaki Higashiguchi's right-hand post, Valdo heading a corner just a few inched wider than he had hoped.
It took something special from an unlikely source to break the deadlock that stretched through the 1st and half and well into the 2nd, and that special something came at a youngster named Hiroto Yamami stepped onto the field in the 76th minute. A moment later he had the 'keeper scrambling to prevent a rasping right-foot shot from distance going in, as Yamami announced his arrival. Five minute later, though, and he did indeed produce a moment of magic, curling a left foot shot into the top corner from the edge of the area to give his team the points. What a goal it was, and fully deserving of the praise it garnered from all quarters! Three vital points, and a new star!
