Nagoya Grampus 3-2 Gamba Osaka

next
Gamba Osaka looked to be heading for an away win to give Tsuneyasu Miyamoto his first victory as a J1 manager when they went deservedly 2-0 ahead by the 37th minute but then a total collapse saw the J1 bottom team come back for a 3-2 win and leave Gamba fans scratching their collective head and wondering what went wrong!

Ademilson opened the scoring with a penalty kick that was earned by Jungo Fujimoto as he was pole-axed from behind after nutmegging one defender and racing away from another. 22 minutes 1-0.

It was Fujimoto himself who added the second goal, after a super passing move split the home defence with Oh Jae-suk's low cross being blasted home from 12 yards by Gamba's number 25. 2-0 at the break and cruising, or so it seemed!

Brazilian forward Jo's spectacular collapse after a tug on his wrist ensured that the home team got a PK that the player himself dispatched just before the hour mark, and the Gamba collapse began. Jo made it 2-2, poking into an empty net after the defence went ball-watching and the stage was set for the home win and Jo duly notched his hat trick to send the Gamba fans home with heavy hearts.
