It was once again a solid display from Tsuneyasu Miyamoto's team which again, as we had seen recently, contained plenty of burgeoning youth as the club continued to plan for the future, bringing players through from the ranks as quickly as they show promised, especially as the J3 Under-23 teams will be abolished from next season.
Hwang opened the scoring on the stroke of the 26th minute, moments after he has sent another chance along the floor straight at the 'keeper from the edge of the area. The Korean striker's goal was a classy affair with a deep cross chested down as he adjusted his body to keep balance, and then a right foot blast of the bouncing ball into the roof of the net.
Masaki Iida equalised for the hosts on the hour mark, against the run of play, heading home an inswinging corner, as defenders watched in decisively, but the match wasn't level for long. It was Shu Kurata who gave his team the lead for the second time on the day when, after some god work on the left was half-cleared, veteran Yasuhito Endo chipped in a pass to the in-rushing Kurata, who took the ball on his thigh to control it, then poked it past the helpless 'keeper from close range.
Hwang tied up the points with his second of the game with eight minutes to go in normal time as he right-footed a cross in at close range to end the scoring at 3-1 to the away team and leave Gamba with a six-game unbeaten run.
