Report on the "17th GAMBA OSAKA Scanbio Cup Supported by S-Pool Plus" held on Saturday, October 26th
On Saturday, October 26th, the " 17th GAMBA OSAKA Scanbio Cup Supported by S-Pool Plus, " a futsal tournament for people with mental disabilities, was held at Suita City General Sports Ground. The event was held at Suita City General Sports Ground with the support of Suita City, and a total of 140 players from 14 teams across the country gathered.
Suita Mayor Goto also attended the event to encourage the athletes.
As a new attempt this year, we divided the leagues into two: the Competitive Oriented League, which places more emphasis on competitiveness, and the Enjoyment League , which primarily provides a place for scambio (interaction) between participating teams, and held the tournament in a way that suited the goals of each team.
Both leagues saw many heated matches, with some players getting excited and celebrating their goals and victories, while others were bitter about losing and even crying in frustration. It was a tournament that gave a glimpse of the strong passion that goes into each game.
Tournament Results
[Competitive League]
Winner: INTERVALO Osaka (Osaka Prefecture) *2nd consecutive victory
Runner-up: Ehime Orange Spirits (Ehime Prefecture)
3rd place: YARIMASSE Osaka (Osaka Prefecture)
In the deciding match between the competitive A-League leaders Ehime Orange Spirits and the B-League leaders INTERVALO Osaka, who were aiming for their second consecutive championship, Ehime Orange Spirits won by an overwhelming margin of 6-0, achieving their second consecutive victory!
[Enjoy League]
Winner: Gsons+ (Volunteer team)
Runner-up: Settsu City FC (Osaka Prefecture)
3rd place: LeGAME (Wakayama Prefecture)
In a close battle where the outcome was uncertain until the final game, Gsons+'s tenacious fighting and team unity paid off, and they became the first Enjoy League champions!
We would like to thank all the athletes who participated from all over the country, and all the people involved who worked hard to make the tournament happen, including S-Pool Plus, Ltd. , who is supporting us as the title sponsor for the second year in a row.
GAMBA OSAKA will continue this activity, working to create an opportunity for people with mental disabilities to come into contact with social life through sports and to support their reintegration into society.
