I am Ginjiro IKEGAYA, a third-year student at the University of Tsukuba, and will be joining GAMBA OSAKA from the 2026 season.
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents and other family members for creating an environment where I could devote myself to the sport I love, soccer. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Head Coach Koido, the University of Tsukuba Football Club, and the Kanto University Soccer Federation for respecting and supporting my decision to start my professional career with one season remaining at the University of Tsukuba.
The University of Tsukuba Football Club is a historic organization that will celebrate its 130th anniversary next year. Looking next to me, I see teammates and classmates with passionate spirits, and coaches and staff who have supported me no matter what the situation. It's an organization that is always striving for greater heights. I'm a little sad to be leaving this organization, but I strongly feel that it's because of this organization that I'm who I am today, and that this dream wouldn't have come true if it weren't for the University of Tsukuba.
