Pre-match comments for the Shimizu match (Head Coach, Miura, and Nawada)
Head Coach JENS WISSING : "The team is in top condition. We feel good and training has been going well. Everyone is happy to be playing at home and is really looking forward to the match. Shimizu has a new Head Coach, and I think they are a team that plays a lot of long balls. They have strong FW and are good at counterattacks. They also have the drive to pick up second balls and try to finish off situations in front of the goal. It's not easy to defend against an opponent like that, but I think it's important for us to fight with discipline. The support of our fans and supporters is a strength for us, and we will need your support in the match against Shimizu. Please lend us your strength and let's fight together."
DF5 Genta MIURA "The fatigue from the recent consecutive matches with 2nd year of junior high school days in between has been gone, and I think that playing matches has helped my body and mind to switch on, so I think my condition will improve from here on out. Our opponent, Shimizu, has a new Head Coach and I get the impression that they are aiming for a style similar to Kobe's. I think the opponent's counterattacks and long balls will be a threat, so we will be managing the risks and responding individually to play the football we want to play. It will be important to eliminate the opponent's strengths, but right now I think the important thing is to see how much of the football we want to play. This is the first game of a seven-match series, and it will also be at home, so I want to play well and win in the 90 minutes."
MF38 : Gaku NAWATA "Shimizu's new Head Coach has put some very tall players up front and I get the impression they're using wingers to go upfield and send in crosses. Also, (anchor) MATHEUS BUENO Batista is a really good player, but they're playing a 4-3-3, so I think we have a chance if we can penetrate the flanks. Personally, when my turn comes, I want to focus on getting results. We've got a string of games coming up, so I think my chances will come, and I need to get results now. I want to contribute to the team's victory, become a player who can lead the team to victory in 90 minutes, and make up for the penalty kick I missed (against Nagoya). And since (Minamino) Harumi has produced results, I think it's my turn next."
