Report and thanks regarding the conclusion of the Meiji Yasuda J.League J.LEAGUE 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE.
With today's Meiji Yasuda J.League J.LEAGUE 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE Playoff Round, GAMBA OSAKA's official matches for the first half of 2026 have all concluded.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans and supporters, local residents, partners, and everyone involved with GAMBA OSAKA who have always supported the team with passion, warmth, and strength. Thank you very much.
This season, under newly appointed manager Jens Wisching, we competed in the "Meiji Yasuda J.League J.LEAGUE 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE ," a special tournament held during the transition period between seasons. We were determined to win even amidst a tight schedule, always maintaining a positive and aggressive approach to scoring goals, and pursuing a style of football where we took control of the game. While veteran players demonstrated their presence, a major achievement was that younger players also gained many opportunities to practice and increased their presence as a force for the team. Competing in this special tournament, unique to the transition period between seasons and bearing the J.League's long-held philosophy of "J.LEAGUE Centennial Vision - Towards a Happier Country Through Sports," provided the club with invaluable experience for the future.
Furthermore, in the AFC Champions League 2, we faced Al Nassr in the final held in Saudi Arabia on May 16th and achieved a magnificent victory. I am deeply moved by the efforts and growth of the players and staff who fought through the long tournament, and I am also deeply grateful for the passionate and warm support we received from the local area and from all over Japan, which greatly empowered the players and staff and led to this result. I also feel that this experience of competing in Asia has become a great asset not only for the players and staff but also for the club as a whole.
This title would not have been possible without the support of everyone who has consistently supported the club. I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again.
The 2026/27 season will mark a major turning point as Japanese football transitions to a new season that will begin in August, aiming for further growth and improved international competitiveness. Amidst this, GAMBA OSAKA will continue to challenge itself "from Japan to Asia and then to the world," walking hand in hand with the local community, paving the way for a bright future and taking on the challenge of increasing the value of the club.
We would greatly appreciate your continued support and encouragement.
Thank you so much for this season.
