On June 30th (Tuesday), I visited the Osaka Prefectural Government to report our victory in the AFC Champions League 2 2025/26 to the Governor of Osaka Prefecture.
On the day of the event, Governor Yoshimura of Osaka Prefecture, Senior Manager Matsusaka of the Prefectural Citizens' Culture Department, Director Wakikawa of the Culture and Sports Division, and Mozuyan, the Vice Governor in charge of public relations, were in attendance. From GAMBA OSAKA, President and CEO Mizutani, and players Higashiguchi and Suzuki participated.
At the beginning of the event, after the attendees were introduced, Higashiguchi reported on his victory, and Governor Yoshimura offered his congratulations on winning the title and words of appreciation for his hard-fought battle.
The subsequent conversation was lively and went over the scheduled time, with participants sharing stories of the hardships they faced throughout the tournament, their thoughts on the final match against Al Nassr, and their feelings about football, all while still feeling the excitement of the World Cup match against Brazil.
Finally, the governor held up the trophy for a commemorative photo, and GAMBA OSAKA presented him with a championship commemorative panel and signed shikishi, bringing the event to a close.
GAMBA OSAKA will continue to work in cooperation with Osaka Prefecture and other local governments to energize the community through sports and various other activities.
