The "Sustain Japan Project" is a nationwide project that uses professional soccer clubs as regional hubs, fostering "Sustain Players" who will become key players in sustainable communities through collaboration between companies, local governments, and educational institutions. In 2026, five clubs will participate, including GAMBA OSAKA, Shonan Bellmare, Renofa Yamaguchi FC, Giravanz Kitakyushu, and Avispa Fukuoka, and the program will be implemented in seven schools nationwide.
GAMBA OSAKA will be implementing a program for fifth-grade students at Suita Municipal Kitayamada Elementary School and Suita Municipal Senri Takemi Elementary School. The children will think about the future of their community under the theme of "What kind of town would everyone want to continue living in?" and turn their ideas into reality through dialogue with a diverse group of adults, including company representatives, local government officials, and club staff.
The "Sustainable Training Center" proceeds in the following four steps:
① Learn
Based on the initiatives of J.League clubs and local companies, as well as domestic and international examples, we will discuss sustainability.
I will learn.
② draw
With the theme of "A town where everyone wants to continue living," children will freely envision the future of their community.
③ Mix
Companies, clubs, and adults in the community seriously engage with children's ideas, refining them through dialogue.
④ Move
We translate the generated ideas into actual actions in stadiums, schools, communities, and other locations.
Under its club philosophy of "Contributing to the local community through the power of sports," GAMBA OSAKA promotes hometown activities and initiatives addressing environmental and social issues. Through this project, we will support local children in developing the ability to take initiative and create the future of their community in collaboration with diverse people.
Furthermore, the initiatives developed at each regional "Sustainable Training Center" will lead to the "Sustainable Training All-Star" event, scheduled for March 2027, providing an opportunity for children and adults from across the country to learn from and co-create with each other, transcending regional boundaries.
GAMBA OSAKA will continue to work in cooperation with local communities, businesses, municipalities, and educational institutions to support sustainable community development and the growth of children who will shape the future.
