Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Poyatos: "First of all, I would like to congratulate all the players. I think they played a great game in the first half and controlled Shonan. They did a good job of keeping possession of the ball and using counter attacks. In the second half, I told them to be careful at the start and not let them score, and we have an important game against Urawa Reds in 2nd year of junior high school days, so I tried to make do by substituting players. In the second half, we didn't have much possession of the ball and dominated the game in some areas, but as time went on, we were able to control the game and win."
Q: "I think it was good that you were able to switch players during the consecutive games, but what was your intention in selecting Kishimoto on the right and Alano on the left when playing on the wide areas?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "Yes, of course we were very organized, and we had the flanks stay wide to prevent the opponents from going up, and we also wanted to use (Usami) Takashi and Denis (Humet) to attack the sides of the opponents' CBs, so we wanted to look for numerical advantages in that area. Alano is a really smart player, and I think he did a good job. In (Kishimoto) Takeru's defense, especially on the left side with Hata and Junnosuke SUZUKI, Shonan creates a solid outlet (for the ball), so I wanted (Kishimoto) Takeru to show their strengths in that area defensively. They have a strong presence on the left, so I wanted to control that, so I brought in Kishimoto."
Q: "What do you think about Kishimoto's two goals?"
Head Coach Poyatos: "Yes, I am very happy with him. I know him well, and he is a hard worker who never cuts corners. Even when he is not on the bench or not playing on the bench, he does not cut corners in practice. I appreciate that about him. So I want him to enjoy this moment to the fullest, and I hope that more days like this will come for him."
