Gamba Osaka 1-0 Shonan Bellmare

Gamba Osaka went into this home game on a seven-game winning streak and celebrating Yasuhito Endo's 600th J1 match! Japan goalkeeper Masaaki Higashiguchi returned to his place between the posts after injury and Koki Yonekura came in at right back in the absence of Oh Jae-suk.

After weathering some early action in their own penalty area Gamba took firm control of the match although didn't see and major action at the other end until just before the break when Hwang Ui-jo headed against the crossbar from an Ademilson cross, the follow-up shot from Shu Kurata being blocked by a defender to keep the scores level at the break.

The home team came out of the blocks early in the 2nd half and a superb passing move down the right saw space from Yonekura to cross. The ball found the head of Hwang at the far post and he knocked it back for Hiroki Fujiharu to volley into the side meeting.

The deciding goal finally came from the head of Hwang after another move down the right saw Yonekura crossing again and this time the Korean marksman's header was a bullet and gave the goalkeeper no chance. Six games in-a-row that Hwang had scored! Gamba almost added another goal in additional time after Bellmare had hit the post themselves minutes earlier, as yet another move down the right saw substitute Kazuma Watanabe in space. He, in turn, slipped it left to Yasukyuki Konno, who saw his shot deflected onto the bar by a desperate defensive lunge. Kosuke Onose then headed the rebound wide with the goal gaping in front of him, but Gamba had already done enough to take the points, and a seventh win in-a-row!
