Pre-match comments for the Okayama match (Vishing Head Coach, Usami player, Kishimoto player)
JENS WISSING, Head Coach : "Reaching the ACL2 final is a fantastic achievement for the club and for everyone involved with it. However, the ACL2 final is still some time away, so we need to forget about the ACL for now and focus on how much we can concentrate on the Okayama match. I think Okayama is a very dangerous team. Looking at their recent matches, they've conceded a lot of goals, but I think Okayama has also created plenty of scoring opportunities. In addition, their foreign FW is strong and dangerous, and I think their counter-attacks are very sharp. However, rather than focusing on the opponent, it's a home game, so we want to fight hard and be hungry for victory in our own way."
FW7 Takashi USAMI: "This season, Gamba has sometimes played poorly in matches after a good one, so we all talked about the importance of always playing a good game. My impression of Okayama is that although there have been some changes in the players, I think they will play pretty much the same as before. Rather than focusing on the opponent, we need to play our own style of football even in the midst of a tough series of consecutive matches. If we can do that, I think we can get three points. I've only recently joined the team, but I think it starts with doing my best in what I can do, and I want to explore how far I can go and try to make it work. I want to improve my condition and play my own style of football."
DF15 Takeru KISHIMOTO : "I think the feeling is different coming back from ACL2 with a win compared to a loss, so I'm really glad we won, and I think the team's atmosphere is good now that we've advanced to the final. Even so, the Head Coach's eyes were sharp, and he said, 'Next is the league match. Forget about the ACL for now and concentrate on the J.League,' so we also want to switch our mindset and fight hard. Okayama has a solid five-man defense and counterattacks, and everyone works hard, so I think they will be a tough opponent. I think they will also push forward aggressively on the flanks, so we want to clash there. We still have a series of matches ahead, but we won't think about the next match, and we'll fight with the mindset of winning one match at a time, aiming to win the match in front of us first."
