Pre-match comments for the FC Tokyo match (Head Coach Myojin, Meshino, Ichimori)
Head Coach Tomokazu MYOJIN : "This week, we reviewed our playing style once again in preparation for the match against FC Tokyo. FC Tokyo has scored multiple goals and has the impression of being a team in good form, taking the initiative by playing in the opponent's half. We know they are in good shape, but since we are playing at home this week, I think it's important that we don't play passively and instead play aggressively. In particular, both of their center backs are players with attacking ability, so I think it will be important to consider that and especially whether we can put pressure on their defensive line. How we win is also very important, so we want to focus on what kind of football we will play."
FW8 Ryotaro MESHINO : "We've spent the last week reaffirming what our strengths are and preparing to express them in the match. FC Tokyo is an aggressive team both offensively and defensively, and a tough opponent. To beat them, the key points will be how well we can push them back into our own half, press them tightly from the front, not losing in tackles, avoiding easy turnovers, and putting our bodies on the line in front of the goal. Personally, I haven't been getting results in the matches I've been given, so I want to play in a way that helps the team win and show that in the numbers. Above all, it's our home game, so we want to be well-prepared and go into the match with the goal in mind."
GK22 Jun ICHIMORI : "FC Tokyo plays in a systemic way, so if we're even one step slow to close them down, it's exactly what they want, and they'll attack us like a puzzle, putting us on the back foot. I think one of the keys to winning will be for the team to fight together without hesitation. Right now, they're creating a lot of chances and taking a lot of shots, so we need to prevent that much more. To do that, I think it's important to attack the ball decisively and without hesitation. If we focus on the opponent and the play in front of us and do what we need to do, I think we can fight without being dragged down by their good form, and we absolutely don't want to lose at home, so we want to fight hard, drawing strength from them."
