Pre-match comments for the Shonan match (Head Coach Poyatos, Ichimori, Mitsuda)
Head Coach DANIEL POYATOS : "(After winning the previous match against Yokohama FC) I felt that victory is like medicine in football. I think we have brought stability, so I think we will be able to enter the next match against Shonan with a sense of composure. Shonan is probably affected by the absence of key players, and they are not in a good flow at the moment, but I think they are a solid team and are playing football in a good way. That is why I think the key to our strategy in the next match will be to prevent the opponent from taking control of the game. I am also sure they will make errors towards the end, so we will want to take advantage of them and make good use of them. I think Shonan will come at us aggressively from the front, but I will focus on how we organize our play when they come out, and I will fight with my players as we have done so far, without wavering."
GK22 Jun ICHIMORI "We have experienced that teams that are struggling to stay in the league will bring out a lot of momentum towards the end, so I think it was good that we were able to bounce back, including that kind of momentum, in our last match Yokohama FC. Shonan is also a team that is struggling to stay in the league, so I think it's important that we fight patiently, not give in to the pressure, and attack aggressively. Shonan is a good team where everyone works hard and fights tactically, and I have the impression that they are not a team that you would expect to find in the lower ranks, so I think it's really important for us to fight like challengers in order to win. Also, since we've been conceding opening goals recently, I think it's important for us as players at the back to make sure we keep the score at zero for even one second."
FW51 Makoto MITSUTA "I think it was great that we won at home, and it was good for the team that we were able to stop our losing streak. When we are compact, I think we are able to attack and defend well, so I think it would be good if everyone, including the players who started and the substitutes, can do that for the entire 90 minutes in the next game. Shonan is known for their solid defense and quick attacks, and I have the impression that they will be able to stay compact and finish with short counterattacks and fast, sharp vertical attacks. It will be a difficult season for them as they are fighting to stay in the league, but on the other hand, I think they will be resigned to playing with determination in front of the goal. That is why I think it will be important for us to respond well to such situations and not give the opponent any chances as much as possible."
