Despite a tough schedule of nine consecutive official matches, Gamba is gradually building a new style of play. Although they couldn't secure a win against Machida in the league match, Head Coach Myojin said, "I'm satisfied with everything except the result, including the players' performance," as they played on equal or even superior terms against Machida, who were leading the league at the time, and managed to earn one point.

The new formation, with the midfield positioned in an inverted triangle and Usami playing as an inside midfielder, is showing increasing power with each match. Following their 16 shots against Buriram United FC. in the ACL Elite, Gamba also took 14 shots against Machida, creating numerous scoring opportunities. That's why the match against Pohang Steelers in the ACL Elite League Stage MD4 will be a stage where they should learn from their mistakes in the previous match.

"We see this as an important match to advance through the league stage. It's a tough schedule with consecutive matches coming up, but we want to secure three points and go home with us," (Head Coach Myojin).
Normally, one point away from home in an Asian tournament is not a bad result, but the match against Pohang Steelers will be a battle to win in order to make up for the three points that were not secured against Buriram United FC. .

The weekend brings the Osaka Derby, a must-win match, making for a tough schedule. However, with JUANPE, Kaku, and Kogashiwa gradually making their presence felt, Gamba's squad depth is increasing, meaning that whoever takes to the pitch will be able to showcase their strengths.
The attacking line has yet to score in two consecutive official matches, but they are increasingly threatening the opponent's goal with purposeful ball movement. "I want to do my best to play my own game and score," said Tsuchida, and not only the front-line attackers but the entire team wants to break through Pohang Steelers. MITO, who has been involved in deeper parts of the opponent's territory more often since moving to inside half, also said, "We are creating chances, but it's meaningless unless we finish them and win," and intends to focus even more on precision in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Pohang Steelers have not only started the league stage with three consecutive losses, but their total number of goals scored is also the worst in Group EAST, at just one. Head Coach Park Tae-ha's contract was terminated on October 30th, and the assistant head coach will be in charge as interim Head Coach against Gamba, but they may actually be more motivated to take on the home game.
They will also face each other in the Round of 16 of the ACL Two 2025/26, and Gamba remains undefeated against them with one win and one draw. However, they have attackers with the potential to score, such as Nishiya, who scored in the second leg, as well as Brazilian players JORGE LUIZ BARBOSA TEIXEIRA and PAULO AFONSO ROCHA JUNIOR, so caution is needed, especially regarding set pieces.

The match against the Pohang Steelers will require both the ability to finish chances and game management that leaves no room for error. As Tsuchida said, "We want to do our best as a team," so Gamba will have to win with the full strength of their team, including the substitute players.
