Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Myojin: "While it's disappointing that the match ended in a draw after 90 minutes, I've told the players that I'm satisfied with their performance, including their play and spirit. In the first half, despite conceding many goals recently, each player worked hard defensively, including applying pressure from the front and holding their position in midfield. There were also instances where we won the ball back as intended, and I think we could see the team's growth in those areas. It may have been a close match, but I'm satisfied with the players' performance. In the second half, the game became a bit more open, and as the players' stamina began to wane, there were several instances where we could have created chances from counter-attacks if we had just made one more pass, as we had in the first half. We will work on improving that through training as the team continues to grow. It's disappointing that we couldn't deliver three points to the many supporters who came out today, but I'm happy that they sent such a wonderful message to the players despite the draw, and I think it will give them confidence. However, it's not the best result." The next match is coming up soon, so we will prepare thoroughly and fight hard to turn our current 1 point into 3.
Q: "Although you couldn't secure the win, I think you were able to play the kind of football Coach Head Coach was aiming for until around the 65th minute. What do you think were the reasons for that?"
Head Coach Myojin: "While JEBALI's influence is significant, I feel that the fast, vertical style of play that the team has built up over the past half-season, and the confidence they have gained from it, are extremely important to the team. I myself have tried to add some tactical extras to that. However, looking back on these matches, I thought about whether we were able to bring out the strengths of each player, whether we were able to make use of the confidence we have built up so far, and whether the players were able to perform at their best. After reflecting on these aspects, I felt that there was no need to force any changes, so I made some small adjustments to allow the players to perform at their best."
Q: Given the current shortage of defensive midfielders, what is your assessment of Yoshihara?
Head Coach Myojin: "He's a player with potential, and I was a little worried about how much confidence he could have in himself while playing. However, I want him to realize how much he's capable of through his performance today, and I believe he's a player who will continue to improve. As for Shu KURATA, who played until he was substituted, he played wonderfully in a position that wasn't his usual one, fulfilling the task of going as far as he could, including in the EMPEROR'S CUP."
Q: What are some of the positive aspects of having JEBALI join the team?
Head Coach Myojin: "JEBALI is a player with exceptional ball-holding ability, so when he holds onto the ball, it creates time for his teammates to move forward. He's also a very intelligent player, always aware of where and when to move, and where there is space. I think JEBALI's characteristics and his teammates have built a really good relationship."
