Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Myojin: "This match against Machida, who were league leaders at the start of the season, was an away game where we wanted to show how much strength we could put into the match and how much power we had. There were some mistakes at the start, but the players remained calm and I think they were able to contribute offensively from the first half. We created chances, including on the counter-attack, and there were some dangerous moments when they had possession of the ball and came down the flanks, but I think the players were also highly conscious of their defensive play. In the second half, the game became a bit more open, but we were able to get close to scoring, create chances, and I am very pleased with the team for finishing with a clean sheet. We were aiming for three points and we didn't win, but aside from the result, I am satisfied with the players' performance. However, we need to keep winning, so we will continue this momentum and carry it into the next match."
Q: Regarding goalkeeper GK, he made some fantastic saves. What is your assessment of him?
Head Coach Myojin: "First of all, there were times when Higashi(Higashiguchi) couldn't even get on the bench, and it was a very difficult season for him. However, he has been a true role model for the other players, from practice onwards, in terms of his professionalism, play, and attitude. At the same time, the content of his play has been excellent. Today, Jun (Ichimori) was suspended, so Higashi played, but I personally had no worries or anxieties at all; I felt very reassured. It was his first game in a while, but I think he played wonderfully with great concentration."
Q: "WELTON was injured and substituted in the first half. What is his condition? Also, what is your assessment of the second half's performance by players like Kaku, even without WELTON?"
Head Coach Myojin: "We don't know yet how long WELTON will be playing. I think Kaku, who came in as a replacement, has shown his strengths in technique and speed."
Q: "Looking at today's starting lineup, it seems like the strategy is to take the initiative and score first. Could you tell us about your 90-minute game management strategy?"
Head Coach Myojin: "From the very beginning, we wanted to give 100% of what we had. It wasn't about striking first and winning, but rather about seeing how well the starting members could do from the start, and then substituting players as they got tired."
