Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Myojin: "It was a very tough match. I think it was a game where you really couldn't tell which way it would go. However, I think the fact that our players fought until the very end, including their running, was what led to today's victory. Our initial goal was to win this match and go to the ACL Elite, so I am very happy that we were able to achieve that."
Q" "There was a dispute with the referee regarding substitutions during the match. Wouldn't it be possible that the goal wouldn't have been scored if that hadn't happened? Also, what substitution strategies were Gamba Osaka considering?"
Head Coach Myojin: "Honestly, I don't know how much of an impact that incident had. However, we were of course planning to make substitutions as we went into extra time, taking fatigue into consideration. If the game got tough, we were thinking of making more substitutions, but we also saw that the Ehara players seemed to be having trouble with our offense, so we didn't make too many substitutions."
Q: "During overtime, there must have been a lot of pressure. How did you send the players out there?"
Head Coach Myojin: "In extra time, especially after we scored a goal, Ehara brought in tall players to the front line and started using a lot of long balls, so I was talking to him about adjusting the DF line and how to press."
Q: "As the ACL2 champions, what are your impressions of the Gangwon team after today's match?"
Head Coach Myojin: "Today's match was very evenly contested, and it was impossible to tell which way it would go. There have been many strong teams in the ACL2 matches so far, but today's Gangwon team gave us a very tough time, and I think they are a strong team."
