Head Coach comments after the match
It was really disappointing that we ended today's game with just one point, but I think the players really believed in victory and fought until the very end, and showed that attitude. Well, I don't think the game should have ended with just one point, and although it's very disappointing, we can't stop here, so we'll continue to play games like today's in the midweek games, and somehow we can all get three points, so we'll be in good shape and fight, even though we only have two days between games.
Q: I imagine it must be tough for the defensive midfielders to have to work so hard towards the end of the game, especially in consecutive games. What are your thoughts on this?
A: Yes. That's right. We did think about that, but we thought that receiving the ball and conceding a goal would have the biggest lasting effect, so Yatto and Kon-chan fought aggressively until the end, and we could have chosen to put in Ogura, the defensive midfielder, but we decided to put Abe in there, because Kotaro on the side ran well, and of course we wanted to keep a good balance and show that we were aiming for another point, so we made that substitution. We were fouled in that way at the end, but we want to prepare as a team so that we can turn this one point into three.
Q: I think Usami and Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira did a great job on defence, what is the Head Coach's assessment of them?
A: In terms of the balance between the players up front, I think both of them did a great job, and with only two days between games, Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira wouldn't have been in a good condition to be substituted, so after we scored the second goal, we wanted to give Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira a bit of a rest, and that may have contributed to the result, so in that sense, I don't think it was the players' fault at all today, and I think the players really ran and fought until the end.
Q: You've had two consecutive games where you were leading by two points but couldn't win. The next game is just two days away, so what do you think you should focus on the most in terms of preparation?
A: Yes. I think we have no choice but to continue playing like today. Of course, this is a game with two days between games, so we have to assess the condition of the players and decide on the members, since it is the fourth game after three games in a row. Well, it has been like this for two games in a row, but how can we turn this difficult time and development into a positive? I think we just have to keep going, even though it is a difficult situation. I don't think today's game was bad, so of course, it would be better if we could have more time to hold the ball when we are winning from the middle of the game onwards, but I think the players showed a lot of attitude today, and we have been able to score points by continuing this, and I hope that we can fight in the next game so that we can somehow hold on to the last part of the game and improve on the part of the points we conceded.
