Head Coach comments after the match
Q: What was your aim in adopting a three-back formation and why did you start Wijo and ADEMILSON Braga Bispo Junior on the bench?
Head Coach, "ADEMILSON Braga Bispo Junior still had some of the stuff he showed in the previous match, and he was barely fit until yesterday this morning, so he started on the bench. As for Ui-jo, we started with a three-back formation in today's match, and we didn't allow the opponent to play the kind of football they were aiming for, so we used Watanabe to use the ball as a starting point. Ui-jo also looked a bit tired, or at least we could see it in the last few matches, so we let him refresh himself a bit, and we started with a game plan to go for the win in the second half. With the three-back formation, we tried to eliminate space, etc."
Q: "I think Oita is a team that passes the ball around, but they had a lot of time before they conceded a goal. Was that because you couldn't press well, or did you feel that you had to press from the front after conceding a goal, and so you became more aggressive from the front?"
Head Coach: "It's fine if the opponent continues to have the ball. On the contrary, I'd rather let them have it, and as I said before, in the second half, we changed the rhythm and went on the offensive, and it was a 90-minute period where ADEMILSON Braga Bispo Junior and Ui-jo were in good condition, and in that context, we used Watanabe and Fujimoto and were able to outperform the opponent in the 90 minutes. In that sense, we played a little more defensively, dropping back a little, to eliminate the space behind us. Of course, after we conceded a goal, we have to go forward to take the ball, and in the second half, we made a tactical change to go forward to take the ball."
Q: "The first 45 minutes seemed like a waste. Head Coach back, how would you evaluate the first half?"
Head Coach: "What do you mean by 'it's a waste'?"
Q: "Looking at the second half of the game, some people think that you could have played a more aggressive style of football since you were playing at home. What do you think?"
Head Coach Miyamoto: "We haven't been able to get any points at home, so we've been trying all sorts of things, but we've been trying to figure out why we have to play aggressive football at home. But if we play aggressive football and end up losing, conceding a goal, then it's meaningless. Of course, we had a plan to play with an aggressive mindset, like we did in the second half, but keep it under control for the first 45 minutes, and if the players had shown the same level of tension from the start that they did in the last 45 minutes, they probably wouldn't have lasted the full 90 minutes. With that in mind, the game ended 1-1, but there were some good points about the second half. I think it was a waste of the first half, especially the points we conceded. But I don't think those 45 minutes were a waste."
