Head Coach comments after the match
Q: "It was the same with the goal scene in the first half, but I think there were a few times in the early stages when the FW made a final break and dropped the ball. I would like to know how you prepared for that, or whether you prepared against Kashima, and what you think is the reason why you were unable to do that as time went on."
Head Coach: "Looking back at the Sapporo match, we were told that we needed to have more depth in our attacks, shake up the opponent, and make fewer vertical passes, so I think the training we did this week to improve on that showed. In the second half, we were a little too active in the defense or attack in the first half, but we weren't able to get out there, especially on the right side, and I think the opponent had studied us, so their attacking efforts were also a factor."
Q: What were your expectations in selecting MESHINO as a starter, and how do Head Coach evaluate his performance today?
Head Coach: "He's been in good form and in training he showed the ability to compete with Ade Widjo for a position at the top of the forward line, so I chose him today. We lost the ball a little too easily in the last match, so I sent him out hoping that he would help us with the pause when receiving the ball, the connection when going from midfield to the front line, and the play to be the starting point when taking the ball to the opposite side. Of course, we practice shooting a lot on a regular basis, so I think that's what came out of that.
He had one chance in the second half, and I hope he will become a player who can score in those kinds of situations in the future.
Q: "The first half of the film seemed to have a very fast tempo, but was that the ideal development that you had in mind, or was it a bit too much? Did you really want to keep it that way?"
Head Coach Miyamoto: "Ideally, I want the players to have a strong will, but of course there are times when the opponents have the ball, and I think we also need times when we can calm down a little more when we get tired from attacking. It's important to be skilled in the game, but with a lot of young players now, I want to make use of the forward momentum. However, the quality is still lacking when we carry the ball to the front of the goal or close to the goal, so there are times when we can't get a shot off, and I've been telling the players that this is something they need to improve in training."
Q: "Is it the kind of football that the Head Coach wants to play until we concede a goal?"
Head Coach Miyamoto: "It's difficult to say that I want to do it, but I thought that this way of doing things was good for this match, so I made the players try to express that in order to create a system that would allow us to surpass our opponents, score points, and win."
