Head Coach comments after the match
Q: "I think that in the second half, you were overwhelming the opponent and were able to break through at the end, but what did Head Coach think about the improvement in the second half?"
Head Coach: "In the first half, we dropped our defense line too early, which allowed the opponent to easily have the ball for a long period of time, so we fixed that and also took a little more time to attack, and one of our aims was to finish our attacks quickly, but we also weren't shaking things up a bit, so I said we needed to fix that at halftime. In the second half, we were able to hold onto the ball a little more, and we brought Endo in at the back, and somehow we were able to score. It didn't go in easily, but I think it was a goal that we just squeezed in with our heart at the end."
Q: "I think the fact that we kept the score at 1-0 and kept the score at zero led to the victory, but I think one of the focal points was how to contain Douglas in particular. What is your assessment of today's game as the Head Coach?"
Head Coach: "When the ball was concentrated on Douglas, the opponents countered, or when the ball was deflected from a cross, everyone was able to respond with concentration, and even when it looked like they were going to shoot, they threw themselves forward or stretched their legs to send the ball straight at Higashiguchi. Before we went on the field, I told everyone that we had changed our system since the Cerezo match, and that our team had only conceded two goals in six matches, but in the last match we had conceded three, so we needed to get back to being more tenacious and strict in defence. We were a little pushed back at the start, but gradually our concentration improved and I think we showed some good things throughout the game."
