Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Miyamoto
"We took the lead in good form and had many close calls to score, but we conceded a goal in the first half that was a bit unfortunate.
In the second half, the opponent was trying to get the three points, but we conceded a goal, but the players picked themselves up and went for the points again, so we saw some good aspects in their mentality and attitude, and Ideguchi's presence increased in the second half, so that's something I take positively today. There were also scenes where we could have scored a third goal, and although it was a game that could have gone in their favor, everyone fought hard and fought through it, so I take it positively.
Q. Of course, there was a certain amount of risk involved in starting Usami, Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira, and ADEMILSON Braga Bispo Junior, but could you tell us your reasons for selecting them and how you view the results?
Head Coach Miyamoto
"I don't think we took any risks, but we did want to attack, and we were thinking about scoring in this away game, and we did score one, and Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira in the second half, and we were able to show some forward momentum, and by Usami dropping back a little, we were able to get the ball behind us and build up some momentum."
Q. I think you've been conceding goals with five minutes left recently, so what do you think about how you used the remaining five minutes today?
Head Coach Miyamoto
"Summer J-League matches are very difficult to control, and they tend to develop into more open plays, but speaking of today, we learned from our mistakes in the previous match and the match before that, and we all put pressure on the opponents' balls. There were scenes the other day where we weren't putting the ball in front of the goal, and we talked about that and I think we were able to improve a little. Also, when we conceded the second goal, we weren't pressing hard enough after the ball bounced back, and we weren't pressing hard enough when we were able to cross, so we need to improve on those areas one by one."
Q. Kashima had a very well-balanced block, making it difficult for Gamba to break through. What was the key to breaking it down, and how did it turn out? Tell us.
Head Coach Miyamoto
"We have a WB in the back three, so we wanted to use the space on the side to our advantage while also utilizing and creating the space between the opponent's half-space, or the DF line and the midfield, and I think everyone was able to aim for that."
