Report on the "Encounters to Expand Dreams and Hopes ~Preparing for the Future~ in Stadium" event held on October 20th (Tuesday) in Suita City.
On Tuesday, October 20th, the Suita City Citizen Interaction Project "Encounters that Expand Dreams and Hopes ~Preparing for the Future~ in Stadium" was held at Panasonic Stadium Suita.
This project is jointly organized by Suita City, the Suita City Board of Education, and GAMBA OSAKA.
(1) "To foster affection and pride for the city by experiencing Panasonic Stadium Suita."
(2) "By providing opportunities to interact with GAMBA OSAKA players and coaches who have had successful careers as professional soccer players, we aim to contribute to the creation of a fulfilling and meaningful life by offering opportunities to think about pursuing dreams and striving for them, as well as about future ways of life."
(3) With the objectives of "learning about the storage of stockpiled supplies and disaster preparedness at a stadium that will serve as a disaster prevention base during emergencies, and raising disaster awareness through experiences such as using cardboard beds," approximately 2,600 children from 27 Suita City elementary schools participated.
In a lecture themed "Shine! With Dreams and Hope," former GAMBA OSAKA player and Japan national team player, Michihiro YASUDA, who hails from Suita City, shared stories from his elementary school days when he aspired to become a professional soccer player, and delivered messages such as "Have a dream, work hard, and never give up" and "Be grateful to those around you."
Afterward, Suita City officials gave a presentation on disaster preparedness, such as earthquakes, followed by a tour of the stadium's storage warehouse and an opportunity to try out cardboard beds.
Finally, we had the opportunity to experience playing soccer on the pitch, enjoying the game together with Michihiro YASUDA and the academy coaches.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at Suita City and the Suita City Board of Education for their efforts in making this community interaction event possible.
GAMBA OSAKA will continue to actively engage in youth development programs in our hometown.
