[Ministry of the Environment x J.LEAGUE] Announcement of "Easy Clothing Decoration Club Clothing Collection Battle"
GAMBA OSAKA will participate in the "Easy Clothing Decoration Club Competition Clothing Collection Battle," which is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and the Japan Professional Football League (hereinafter referred to as "J.League").
In Japan, approximately 500,000 tons of clothing are incinerated or landfilled as waste each year*, and in order to reduce CO2 emissions, it is important for each individual to engage in the "3Rs" of clothing: reduce, reuse, and recycle.
GAMBA OSAKA has been working with the local community to promote climate change countermeasures and resource recycling through various activities, including "collection and recycling of used plastics" and "climate change awareness events."
In recent years, the increasing severity of torrential rains and typhoons has led to the postponement or cancellation of matches, and the rising summer temperatures have had a significant impact on the playing environment. Therefore, climate change countermeasures have become a crucial issue in order to protect the environment in which we can continue to enjoy soccer in the future.
This project is a club-versus-club event where fans and supporters bring clothes they no longer wear at home to the stadium and work together to promote "clothing reuse and recycling."
On the day of the event, we will be holding a raffle to give away GAMBA OSAKA merchandise to those who cooperate with our clothing collection.
Why not bring your old clothes to the stadium and support the club while taking part in an environmentally friendly action?
We sincerely look forward to your warm cooperation and participation.

◆"Easy Clothing Decoration Club Competition: Clothing Collection Battle"
Based on a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of the Environment and the J.League, this is a club-versus-club event where you can support your favorite club while participating in clothing reuse and recycling.
Six J.LEAGUE clubs (GAMBA OSAKA, Kashima Antlers, Mito Hollyhock, Yokohama F・Marinos, Avispa Fukuoka, and Vegalta Sendai) will participate in this initiative, collecting unwanted clothing from households at two of each club's home games. The winning club will compete based on the amount of clothing collected per attendee.
The collected clothing will be reused and recycled to help people move on to the next stage of their lives.
Your actions contribute to the recycling of clothing resources and decarbonization.
