Head Coach comments after the match
JENS WISSING, Head Coach: "I am truly delighted that we were able to achieve such a wonderful moment with everyone involved with the club. And as a Head Coach , I also enjoyed today's match. The players showed a fighting spirit until the very end and played a fantastic game. They played a game that they deserved to win. I am really happy."
Q: At what point did you become confident that you could win the title?
Head Coach JENS WISSING : "I was certain when the final whistle blew. Al Nasr was a truly great team, and it could have been a goal at any moment. It was a tense match. I think I was finally certain that we had won when the referee blew the final whistle."
Q: What were your impressions of the people of Saudi Arabia and the support at the stadium?
Head Coach JENS WISSING : "We arrived in Saudi Arabia a few days ago and were warmly welcomed from the very first day. We are here today thanks to the support of many people. I felt that both teams showed respectful support, including during the match."
Q: "The Al Nassr Head Coach said he didn't expect Gamba to start the match like that. Was that something they had prepared for, or was it their usual style of play?"
JENS WISSING, Head Coach : "This is the kind of football we play. The players prepared thoroughly for today, and I think that's what we showed. The opponent is of high quality, but we are also a club with high-quality players. I think it's wonderful that we were able to perform like that against such an opponent. There were many opportunities for us to defend in the box and for them to deliver crosses. I think the players were well prepared in those areas and fought hard until the very end."
Q: "With Al Nasr having world-class players, winning the championship must have been a huge confidence booster for both the players and the club, wouldn't you say?"
Head Coach JENS WISSING : "This is a very significant result. It has given us a great deal of confidence. It was a really tough match, but the players did a great job. I think that winning this difficult match will give the players the experience to build confidence for the future."
Q: "In the second half, the opponent made five substitutions to their forwards and midfielders. How did you counter their movements?"
Head Coach JENS WISSING : "Both teams have high-quality players, so it's a matter of how they'll perform, but we won't single out any one player. I think both teams have fantastic players going into today's match."
