Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Hasegawa: "I think the reason we won today is because the players fought really well. However, the situation is not such that we have qualified, and we need to win one more game to get through the group stage, so we want to prepare well for one more game at home and get three points."
Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira: "I expected it to be a really tough game away from home, but I came here with a strong feeling, and since I've been getting good results in the domestic league, I'm confident that I can achieve good results."
Q: Today, without your defensive efforts in the first half, we probably wouldn't have scored the opening goal or gone into halftime with a 3-0 lead, but what did you emphasize to your players, especially defensively?
Head Coach Hasegawa: "First of all, we have to let the number 9 play. Last time, we conceded the opening goal, and today, when he got the ball, he played very well, so we talked about first stopping him as a team, and also about how the number 6 and 11 players on the left wing put in some very good crosses, so we talked about how we all have to be good at dealing with those crosses. The whole team, including Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira Usami up front, really worked together well in today's game, and I think that's why we were able to keep the opponent at zero goals."
Q: "At the pre-match press conference, the Head Coach said that he would focus on defense, so No. 29 performed well in this match. Most of the results were from long counterattacks, so did you decide on a long counterattack strategy before the match?"
Head Coach Hasegawa: "We hadn't decided on a long counter attack strategy in particular. We just talked about playing our usual style of football, but today, Tokuryoku dropped back a lot and pulled their defensive line, so I thought they would come harder because it was a home game, but I think that was a bit surprising."
Q: "Was it a big deal that you were able to score early against an opponent that you weren't able to score against last time? Also, considering the reason for your five points and the goal difference, how do you feel about the significance of scoring five points?"
Head Coach Hasegawa: "I think it was great that we were able to score first. We didn't allow Tomoriki to play their best game, and by scoring first, we were able to play the game with a strong advantage. I think the fact that we were able to score five points was the result of the players really putting their frustration from losing last time into this match."
Q: "You scored five points. There is one game left, and it could come down to goal difference. How do you feel about that?"
Head Coach: "It looks like Jonan won, so if we don't win at home, it will be difficult to get through the qualifying rounds. Rather than the fact that we got five points, I think it's more important to get three points in the next game."
