I, Tadashi ONO, have decided to step down from my position as President and CEO of GAMBA OSAKA . I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who supported me during my term as President.

When I took over as president in 2020, we were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and found ourselves in a very difficult situation, but I would like to express my gratitude once again to all of you for your support during that time. In 2021, the club will celebrate its 30th anniversary, and we took this opportunity to announce a "brand concept" that will serve as the core of the club's creation, and rebranded the club, including changing the emblem. In order to create football that is unique to GAMBA OSAKA, we have clearly defined what the club aims to achieve.

This season, in order to build a stronger GAMBA OSAKA football team, we established a football headquarters, significantly strengthened our team, and fought for 7th place, which will be a foothold for the ever-victorious Gamba. During the nine years that we were away from winning titles, we continued to search for ways to build GAMBA OSAKA's football team, and there were many seasons in which the team's performance was poor, and we are very sorry for causing concern to all of our supporters. However, we believed that building a good club would lead to building a good team, so we worked to build the club's foundations by enhancing the academy, promoting our overseas strategy, and developing human resources, which led to great results such as this season's runner-up in the EMPEROR'S CUP, the possibility of participating in the ACL next season, consecutive victories in the youth national tournament, and the highest number of spectators in the history of league matches. It was my greatest joy to be able to share these joys with everyone.

Although my term as president is coming to an end, I plan to continue to support President Mizutani as an advisor for the time being. I still remember as vividly as if it were yesterday the excitement I felt when I first saw the enthusiastic and unified support from the entire GAMBA OSAKA is not an easy one, but I think we are now in a position where we can see the signs of success.

Once again, thank you very much for your support and encouragement so far.
