The "pride" that had been gradually forming within him since his days as a member of Maccabi Haifa FC's youth team has developed into a firm confidence as he progresses through his professional career and grows older.
"For me, pride is like a core that helps me express my individuality and the quality of my play. It always pushes me forward and gives me courage when I think, 'This is how I want to be.' But it's something that should only burn within myself. I don't think it should be used to control or infringe on the humanity of others."
So I don't try to show it off because I think if I have it within myself, I can express it through my play.
"Looking back on my career so far, I'm sure there were times when pride changed the course of my life, or helped me grow thanks to it. I can say without a doubt that I am who I am today thanks to that pride. But to be honest, it's difficult to pinpoint a specific time or situation when it stood out. On the other hand, I think it's something that's so naturally present within me that it has helped me in various game-decisive situations, or when I have sought to grow as a player. That's why I want to continue to hold that pride firmly within me, moving forward on the path I believe in, and taking action."
However, Ravi says that this should always be kept separate from "winning or losing."
"In the world of soccer, there are not always good times. There are times when you win and times when you lose. Even if you train in the same way, you don't always get results. However, you shouldn't think of these emotions as emotions and pride together. You shouldn't deny yourself because things didn't go well, and conversely, you shouldn't get cocky about things that went well. I want to be the person who can accept the results sincerely and calmly, and continue to look forward without changing."
It is because of this mindset that he has been able to continue to face football with a consistent and sincere attitude, without being swayed by the situation he finds himself in or the results of the games this season. The pride he carries within him always supports him and makes him stronger.
"The world of professional soccer is very interesting, and it is impossible for any team to keep winning forever. In other words, it is impossible for any team to keep losing forever. If I understand that, I will not be scared no matter what situation I find myself in, and I can continue to be myself. Whether I win or lose, each time I reflect on what I lacked and practice to improve my skills. I will never be satisfied with the status quo, but will work on the issues I want to improve and brush myself up. Only those who can continue to do that will be able to survive in this world."
