Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Jens Vissing: "It was such a tough match that I couldn't even speak up. We had the ACL2 a few days before, and a match against Okayama a few days later, so we weren't fully prepared, and all we had to do was go for the win in the 90 minutes. We had to come all the way here and face an opponent, so it was certainly not an easy match. But even in that respect, the players were very focused and I think they brought that energy onto the pitch."
Q: "I think you were going through a tough period for about 10 minutes before you scored the second goal. What do you think was the reason you were able to bounce back and score a goal?"
Head Coach Jens Vissing: "Honestly, as you can see, the opponent used a lot of long balls during that period. It was not easy to pick up the second ball, and when they used so many long balls, it was not easy to get the ball back. However, just like with the second ball, you can't do it alone. I think that as a result of everyone on the pitch working together, we were able to pick up the ball and score the second goal. They really put in a great performance and deserved to win."
Q: "I think Higashiguchi gave a fantastic performance. What is your evaluation?"
Head Coach Jens Vissing said, "He's one of our goalkeepers, so his job is to defend. But more than that, he gave a really great performance, and I think it's the result of him doing what he had to do without anyone getting carried away. He was really focused, and I think he gave a great performance today."
Q: "What was the intention behind the two substitutions at halftime and the intention behind bringing in Okunosuke as left back in the second half?"
Head Coach Jens Vissing said, "ACL2 was two days before, and they had really good results with only 2nd year of junior high school, and I thought it would be a bad idea to make drastic changes when they were performing well, so I kept in mind the risk of injury and only changed one player in the starting lineup from ACL2. The reason I made the substitutions at halftime and then again at a relatively early time was because I felt that we needed that energy, and being fresh was an important time for the team. It wasn't because of any particular big event, but I really wanted to bring out that freshness, and I made the substitutions while avoiding the risk of injury. That's all."
Q: "Please tell us again about your impressions of Okayama."
Head Coach Jens Vissing said, "As you can see, they are a team that plays really great football. I think they can earn a lot of points, especially at home, and I think they are a dangerous team. I think that their strength, especially in terms of FW, is a strength, and they are not easy to defend against. So, in that respect too, I once again think that they are not an opponent that can be easily beaten."
