Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Katanozaka: "After the break, we lost three points in our home game against Kyoto, and we only managed to get one point, which is very frustrating. At the very end, we were tied like that, and of course, if you say differently, there were moments when we could have scored a second goal, and I think we could have held on, but we can't change the result. We just need to focus on ourselves, switch gears, and do our best to make sure that this doesn't happen again and play a game where we can get three points. Right now, what we really need is to win, and in order to win, it's also important for the players to finish the game well, so I'm really frustrated that we made them feel this way, and I feel responsible for that. In preparation for our next away game against Fukuoka, we'd like to use this time to adjust our fighting style and play a game where we can win."
Q: Can you please explain to the extent possible why players such as Suzuki and Fukuoka who were in the match against Paris Saint-Germain are not there?
Head Coach Katanozaka said, "He wasn't in good condition, so I decided to take him off the bench."
Q: "I think the bench members were changed due to the situation, but when Head Coach brought on the substitutes, did you mean that you wanted to score a second goal and finish the game?"
Katanosaka, Head Coach: "Of course, it was good that we were able to score the opening goal, but with Kyoto's sending off, we had the chance to create a situation where we could have scored the second goal. If we had scored this goal, we would have had a high chance of winning the game, and I think that the players who came on as substitutes did a good job in that situation, but we were unable to score the second goal, and the way we ended the game led to a somewhat disappointing result, so I think it was a really wasteful game. There have been many games this season where we have regretful games, or games where we have been caught up in this way at the very end or lost points, and I feel that if we don't stop this, we will just keep going downhill."
Q: "MESHINO scored your first goal. I think it was a great goal, but you seemed to be struggling with the lone striker role. Was that because you didn't have much time to prepare from the lone striker role with Suzuki in the match against Paris Saint-Germain?"
Head Coach Katanozaka: "I myself wanted to use (Suzuki) Musashi. However, in light of the fact that he was not in good condition, we had to think about who would play as a FW in his absence. Of course, we have foreign players Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira and Leandro. However, for the Kyoto match, I also thought of using (MESHINO) Ryotaro for both offensive and defensive tasks, and tried to see if Ryotaro's strengths could be brought out. Of course, we only had four days to prepare after the Paris match, so I wished we had had a little more time, but there's nothing we can do about it, and so, if we had used Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira or Leandro, maybe it would have worked, and this is something that we had to try, so I thought about it and tried to put Ryotaro at the top, as a FW, and Ryotaro himself took on the challenge in that situation, and I think it was very good that he was able to score in whatever way."
