Pre-match comments for the Okayama match (Head Coach Poyatos, Fukuoka, Minamino)
Head Coach DANIEL POYATOS : "Since we are facing Okayama in a short time after the Fukuoka match, I first tried to get the players back in shape. Okayama is a very intense team, and they put a lot of pressure on us, and I think the outcome of the match will depend on the one-on-one play, so I want to do my best there. Also, from what I saw on video, Okayama's ground seems difficult, but I want to accept the ground conditions and control the opponent's press well. In this match, the intensity of the play is important, but we also need to have a common understanding of how we will play against Okayama. I think the level of understanding will be the key."
DF2 Shota FUKUOKA "We will be more cautious against newly promoted teams, but I think we have sorted out how to fight as a team. Of course we need to show our strengths, but when the strengths of our opponents come out, we need to take them on head-on like in the match against Fukuoka and show that we can do what they want and what their standards are. Okayama is a team that likes to play the ball 50-50, so we need to keep possession of the ball and aim for the goal to avoid that. As for defense, we need to play our own defense rather than adapting to the opponent's style, so we will call out to the back line, including the GK, and coordinate with the players on the pitch so that we can create chances while doing that."
FW42 Harumi MINAMINO "Okayama is a team that has been promoted, so I think the general public thinks that they are a team that you don't want to lose to, but I think they are the most difficult opponent. Okayama is a fighting team, and if we don't compete and win in that area, it will be difficult for them, so when I play, I want to be better at fighting and also in quality. Basically, I'm prepared to be able to play anywhere in the forward position, and I have a pretty good idea of how to play, so I want to be more particular about numbers and being involved in scoring. I think that split-second movements will be important to break through Okayama's defense, and I think the most difficult thing for the opponents is to move with varying speed, so I want to play while varying the strength of that."
