2026.5.10[TEAM]
PICKUP PLAYER DF47 Shinya NAKANO: "He effectively demonstrates overlapping runs and up-and-down movement, which translates into statistics and contributes to the team's victory."
This match marks the 11th game in our 11-game stretch, which began with the Kyoto Sanga FC match (J1 J.LEAGUE 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE, 9th Sec.). I myself only returned from injury at the beginning of April, so it's only been a little over a month, and I haven't been playing in every match, so I don't feel tired at all! I was on the bench in 14th Sec. against Vissel Kobe, and I only played for about 30 minutes in the previous match against Nagoya Grampus, so I'm in a fresh state to face Sanfrecce Hiroshima this week. That's why I want to make sure that freshness translates directly into the team's performance and that we can play in a way that leads to victory. This season, I've always been able to play with confidence in the matches I've played, and in the match against Hiroshima, I want to make sure that when I have the ball, I can dribble and push the attack forward, and I'll be able to express that on the pitch.
Regarding Hiroshima, my impression is that they are a team that uses a three-man defense as a base, with both wingers actively pushing forward and finishing off crosses. Shuto NAKANO, the right winger I will be facing, is strong in one-on-one situations and a player who can work hard up and down the field. Considering that he was the starting point for many of the finishes in the last match, I think dealing with him will be a key point for both the team and myself. However, I am confident in my one-on-one situations and hard work, so I want to not be intimidated by the opponent and instead outmaneuver them. In the Kobe match, Ryo (Hase) provided two assists with accurate crosses, and I want to emulate that. In addition, I want to fully demonstrate my strengths, such as overlapping and moving up and down the field, and contribute to the team's victory.
Also, in the away match we played in March, we had to change our approach a little because it was an extremely tough back-to-back match following the away game against Ratchaburi in ACL2. This season, we've been practicing "attacking" defense, but we haven't been practicing "receiving" defense by setting up a block. We can definitely play with more confidence in the former, and that leads to playing football on our own terms, so we're going to try to win this match by playing our own style of football.
After this match, we have the ACL2 final against Al Nassr. In order to carry that momentum forward, we first want to focus on the match against Hiroshima, win decisively, and head away to the game. As before, we will fight with the great support and cheers of our home supporters. Let's win together!
