Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Miyamoto: "First of all, I'm very happy about our first away win in the league. We had some difficult times in the first half. The opponents had the ball for a long time, and we seemed to be a little behind in terms of our defensive approach to the ball, so we were a little slow to react. With the score at 0-1 again, we changed our system a little in the second half. In that situation, the players remembered their natural combinations and sense of distance, and I think they had some good ways of moving the ball, and by taking advantage of that, we were able to get closer to the opponent's goal and increase the number of shots, so I think that was a great gain."
Moreover, I think it was a very big victory for the team to come from behind like that. However, there are still games to come, and the rankings haven't changed, so we want to continue to make the most of each and every game.
Q: "HWANG Ui Jo jo has just returned from playing in the Asian Games and playing for the Korean national team. What areas have you improved in and what did you feel Head Coach Miyamoto saw in you about your second goal today?"
Head Coach: "I think we've been able to play more efficiently, or rather, we've been able to play more in areas that directly lead to points, and of course we also worked hard on the defensive side today, but on the offensive side, we also need to think about where to receive the ball, and
I have the impression that he has become a little quicker in terms of where he swings his foot around the penalty area.
Q: You replaced Konno in the 83rd minute, but just before that Endo was given instructions on the board. Was the reason you replaced Konno instead of Endo because you were worried that by substituting Endo, the team's offensive awareness would drop and they would retreat?
Head Coach: "We were able to buy time by being calm when we had the ball, and by having Endo stay behind. Also, in the previous play, Endo put pressure on the opposing GK when he had the ball and the opposing team was about to connect, so we tried to be a little more patient there. I instructed him to bring Yang in and control the ball there."
Q: "I think the players will gain confidence from not conceding any goals in the second half, but what do Head Coach think was the biggest factor in that success?"
Head Coach: "We were able to slide smoothly in response to the opponent's possession, or rather the way they moved the ball, and we were also compact, so we were able to defend narrowly and pick up the second ball, and we were also able to take the ball to an open space on the side, so
I think the flow got better in the second half. Well, we've played a few games with a three-back formation, but I think the four-back formation that the players have always had, or the 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 formation, came out smoothly.
