Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Miyamoto: "As it was our final home game, we all talked about getting the three points. We weren't in Kurata's position and ADEMILSON Braga Bispo Junior wasn't in great shape, so I was hoping that the substitutes would produce good results, but in the end, Nakamura scored a goal, and Watanabe, who hadn't started in a while, performed well. I think we were very aggressive from the start, which was good.
However, we still have some issues to address in terms of scoring additional goals, so we would like to score more goals at home.
Even after the score was 2-1, we managed to close the game out well, even with other players on the pitch, and I think it was good that we were able to show our determination to score more goals. We've won nine games in a row, but with one game left, we still want to win the last one away, so we'll continue to train hard next week.
Q: "Head Coach've won nine games in a row, which is a record you set in 1997 when you were still playing,"
Head Coach Miyamoto: "I don't really remember (laughs). It's true that we played in an atmosphere where we thought that if Henri Patrick MBOMA Dem was up front and defending, he would score a goal on the counter. I remember that we played in an atmosphere where we were sure we would win if we played a game.
The players are now playing with confidence in some areas, and I think they are able to remain calm even when under pressure. That being said, we need to take the points when we can. For example, Ui-jo had a chance to score an additional point, and we wanted to make it 2-0 or 3-0 in that match, so we need to train hard.
Q: Nakamura scored the winning goal today, but he was selected as a starter despite not having many opportunities to play. Please tell us about Nakamura's growth since you took over as Head Coach in July, and the thoughts that went into sending him out today.
Head Coach: "Since he came on, he had the ball when he was on the ball and had something special when he was in the penalty area, so he was involved in top-level matches and scored a goal in the Urawa match, but I told him that it would be difficult to play for 90 minutes if he didn't improve his movements in other off-ball situations. I gave him various issues, such as his strength in heading and ball-fighting in defense, the speed of sliding, and making runs to the back, and he gradually cleared them. I could see that in the last month and a half, so since he has scored goals in J3 matches, I sent him out for a meeting to talk about whether he would score or not, and whether he should score. I talked about the results Doan had when he was in his third year of high school and the results Nakamura has now, and said that he doesn't have enough results. He himself said that he scored a goal properly, and he also played well other than scoring, and above all, I think it was good that he showed his good points of attacking towards the goal many times. When you think about him as a soccer player in general, those kinds of clearance mistakes happen, so I would like to improve those areas more."
Q: "Regarding Nakamura, I think he was outstanding not only in attacking but also in defense. Did you say anything to him about that?"
"I'll show him clips from J3 footage and point out the areas he needs to improve,"Head Coach. "If he has a good defensive approach in practice, that's a good play. If he doesn't have a good defensive approach, that's a bad play."
While communicating that there were areas that needed improvement, we worked to ensure that the players were able to match what they saw on film with their actual plays, and I think that in the midst of the high tension of the match today, there were many good plays and we also saw some quick switch gears.
He has become stronger than he was in the beginning of spring, but there are still things I want him to learn when he competes with other players, like Kurata and Onoe, for a spot in the starting lineup, so I want to convey that to him.
Q: You said that all the players trust the Head Coach and train and play hard, but what do you think is the most important thing to create the sense of unity that the Head Coach spoke of?
Head Coach Miyamoto: "It wasn't something we did to come up with something, but rather, I wanted to utilize the characteristics and strengths of each player and lead the team to victory, so I thought of various combinations, used various words, and communicated with them, and I think that the result of each player really bringing together what they have is what led to the initial momentum. I also clearly told each player how I wanted them to play."
