Head Coach comments after the match
Head Coach Katanozaka: "We went into the match with the hope of winning against Jubilo, who is in good form away from home. Regardless of the outcome, we managed to score one point at 1-1. Of course, it was good that we didn't lose, but content-wise, we wanted to win and we wanted to get three points. We conceded a goal early in the first half, and of course we had some balance issues and mistakes, so it was a tough start. I told the players how to start the match, and they were really fired up and went out to play, but they didn't get into top gear, and we had to switch gears at halftime and show what we're trying to do now, and show that power for the last 45 minutes of the second half to turn the game around. We didn't stop, we just switched gears and went for the goal, and we also adjusted our defense, and we managed to tie the game. In the future, I want to be able to play the kind of football we want to play from the first half in games like this, and I want all the players to be well prepared and show their power again." Today was an away game, but we had a lot of Gamba supporters come to Yamaha Stadium and cheered us on until the end, which I think is part of why we managed to get one point, so I'm really grateful to all the Gamba supporters for coming all the way here. All the players will be well prepared and ready to take on the challenge again so that we can somehow get three points and a victory at home next time.

Q: "In the first half, your attacks were heavily weighted towards the right wing, but in the second half, your balance improved and you were able to put more players in front of the goal. What adjustments did you make in the second half, including your intention in bringing in Fukuda, that allowed you to create that kind of play?"
Katanosaka, Head Coach: "In the first half, everyone, especially the two defensive midfielders, were a little too close, and it looked like the shadow players Ishige and Yamamoto were free, but the ball didn't get there easily, so we tried to keep the balance, and while moving forward, we were able to take our positions properly and move forward, which is something we've been building up since training, so the players were aware of that, and we also watched as they didn't seem to be getting into the shadows well, so we made sure to correct that in the second half, and as for Fukuda, he's a player who is very bold in defence and fights for the ball in the midfield, and he has the power to attack, so we were a little behind, and Yamamoto wasn't able to get into the game, so we wanted to step it up a bit by substituting Fukuda at halftime."
Q: "There are some areas in our attacking style that need to be adjusted, but I think that our close-quarters and second-ball winning rates were high today. I think that our defensive organization is improving with each game, but are there any areas where you feel confident?"
Head Coach Katanozaka: "As you say, I'm currently taking on the challenge of leading Gamba, but the level of football these days has really improved in terms of ball control, switching, intensity, speed, and quality, and the intensity has also increased, so I think that if we don't fight in those areas, we won't be able to go up in the rankings or play good football, so I'm asking the players to do that on a daily basis in training, and we have to run, and whether we can pick up those second balls will determine whether we can win points. Over the last few games, little by little, I want the players to gain confidence in those areas, and I feel that it's important, so I hope that we can express that on the pitch and create the kind of football that is characteristic of Gamba."
Q: "At the end of the second half, we brought on Pereira Leandro Marcos(LEANDRO PEREIRA) and changed to a 4-4-2 formation, which allowed us to tie the score, but the opponent had more time to hold the ball, and although we managed to score a goal, I think it also presented some difficult aspects. How did you view the timing of the game and the developments from there?"
Head Coach Katanozaka: "We were behind, so we changed to 4-4-2 and were able to push back to some extent, so I had Leandro (Matheus Sousa PEREIRA) and Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira go up front to score. Since we were losing, I thought we would have to go forward, and since we had fewer players in the back line and had two strikers up front, I knew that Jubilo would have some of their skill in counterattacks and movement, but from there we had to challenge for the ball with three or four players, put pressure on them and get the ball back, so I wanted the players to run and fight with their power, even in 4-4-2, and somehow get the ball back, and make use of Anderson PATRIC Aguiar Oliveira and Leandro's strengths. It was expected that we would be in a pinch if they kept the ball to some extent, but of course if we had been fresher, we could have put more pressure on Jubilo even with the 4-4-2 defense, and we could have gotten the ball back and pushed our attack forward, but since it was that time of day, I just watched them go for the goal."
Q: "The one who scored the tying goal was Leandro. He was a little late joining the team and he was a little in a difficult condition from the start of the game, but how did you feel about scoring a goal despite that and what was your assessment of it?"
Head Coach Katanozaka: "Leandro started in the Urawa match but was substituted in the first half, but there are areas where he needs to improve his condition. And Leandro himself is now paying attention to that in his daily training and is working hard from the beginning, so his awareness is changing. Of course, there are still areas where I would like him to do a little more, but the fact that he contributed to the team with a goal shows that he has good decisiveness and is good in front of the goal, so I think that Leandro needs to improve his condition, including how he uses those areas, and I would like him to score in a way that makes the most of Leandro and get results and play for Gamba."
Q: "This was the first time the players faced Endo, so what did Head Coach tell the players before the match, or did you tell them to be wary of him as an opponent?"
Head Coach: "Rather than talking specifically about Yatto (Endo), I talked about how, if you give him time, he can provide really good balls to the front line and become the starting point of an attack, so we talked about being careful not to give him space and time as much as possible."
Q: "In fact, Endo was the starting point for the first goal we conceded, but now that the game is over, is there anything you feel you should have done differently?"
Head Coach Katanozaka: "I think it's important to start the first half in top gear, switching between offense and defense quickly, and to show intensity. Also, we lost the ball a little and our balance was off, so I told the players about that and I felt it was important to build up in training so that we don't lose the ball in our own half."
